Doing it Alone

Dear Anthony,
I will be moving to New York City in June to attend my NYU Summer orientation. I want to party at Kurfew but I will have to go alone since I don't know anyone in the area. Is that OK? Is that seen in a negative  light? Please give me your honest opinion.
Thanks.

Dear NYU boy,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to Kurfew alone.  I go alone almost every week and no one has ever made me feel like a loser for it.  The Kurfew regulars are a fun and friendly crowd and its very easy to make friends there.  However, some people don't feel comfortable going alone, and if thats the case there are a couple of options.  You can always go to the Kurfew chat room on the Kurfew webpage.  Peak hours are Sunday to Thursday 9:00 PM TO 10:00 PM, Friday 9:00 PM to ??? and Saturday 8:00 PM to midnight.  In this chatroom, you can talk to guys like yourself, many of whom attend Kurfew regularly.  This is a great way to find some friends to show up with, or maybe even a date. Like any chat room, just remember to be cautious as you never quite know who's really at the other end. Another option is to volunteer to help out at the Message Board (a great way to meet boys) or to help out at the gay pride parade by emailing volunteer@kurfew.com.  These volunteer opportunities are an excellent way to make friends with other young gay guys.  If none of these options work, you can always get in touch with me, I'm an NYU student also so I went through the same sort of thing!  Good Luck and we hope to see you at Kurfew soon!!!
