How often you've heard it: "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours."
If your relationship is to survive, your boyfriend must allow you to lead the type of social life that you desire. His concern that you will fall for someone else simply smacks of distrust, and distrust is not an appropriate component to a true loving relationship.
You need to talk to your boyfriend and let him know that you absolutely need your freedom. Tell him you expect him to trust you to be faithful, and make it clear that you are not happy in your current situation. If you've previously spoken about this and it hasn't gotten you anywhere, perhaps it's time to write it down, and hand it to him formally so he appreciates just how serious an issue this is.
If your boyfriend is mature and confident enough, he'll give you the freedom that you need. If he's immature and insecure, he won't, in which case I'd advise you to give him an ultimatum. Either he gives you the freedom to lead your own social life as you see fit, or you'll take the freedom to find a new boyfriend. And then do it.
After all, what's the point of a relationship if you are unhappy in it???
