B/F feels caged, what can I do?

My b/f and I have been together for almost 2 years now. We have an open relationship. Recently, he told me that he feels that he can't go see his friends or family because of me. That he doesn't have the time to be with me and everyone else also. He is not out to his family and most of his friends are str8, but know that he is gay, so I don't feel that he would want me out with them. We both recently got promoted at our jobs and have had very little alone time other than being in the same bed and sleeping. We have worked opposite shifts lately, but the little time we would have to spend together is used to satisfy our '7yearitch' that we opened the relationship up for in the first place. I don't want him to feel like he can't see his friends and family, but at the same time am worried that we won't spend any time together either. Is there a happy medium?
