You won't get along with every group of people

In Answer To: Can't get along with the gay youth group (Majorcool)

There are groups of people you'll get along with and others you won't. Certainly there are more than 10 to 15 gay people in your town, but only 10 to 15 show up at this group, which suggests you're only seeing a very very small cross section of the gay community in your town. It would be unfair to judge all gay people based on the few idiotic conversations that go on in this group. I know of many people who complain about the quality of those they've met in youth groups, and I think this is a self-fulfilling prophecy, because your average every-day gay kid might be turned off or afraid to show up!!!

This doesn't mean it's not your personality!!! It just means that your not connecting with this particular group. And hopefully you have other alternatives to meeting gay people, such as chat rooms or what have you. You might also decide to try to get along better with members of this group, although this might involve a change in your expectations, as well as a change in the way you deal with these group members.
