Desmond: the boy eludes to hating women, likes fashion and home decorating, and quietly jokes about having you shower with him, and you're having trouble figuring him out??? Nearly everything you've told us strongly indicates that this boy is gay and trying to send you a strong message about his being gay! Even if he's truly straight, it seems unlikely that he'd have a huge problem with you if you came out to him...unless he's severely closeted himself.

It sounds like he's struggling to figure you out, yet you are not giving him enough clues about yourself for him to feel confident making a move.

My advice: the next time you guys are relaxed and hanging out, sit a little too close, or stare a little too long, or tickle him or do something a little unexpected. Or take him up on his shower offer...that sounds like fun. = ). His reaction will let you know if he's open to more from you. But you have to do something! I'm sure many potential relationships have never materialized because both people were too afraid to take a little bit of a risk!
