In Answer To: Can you change your sexuality? (ADAM)

The question of "who's right, me or my dad?" is a good one. Most gay activist would say that you are right, and most anti-gay groups would probably side with your dad. The truth is that nobody really knows. My opinion is that it probably isn't possible to truly change your sexual orientation. Further more though, whatever caused my sexual orientation happened naturally and even if there was a way to change it, I am not sure that I would want to. I think the most important question is, however, not whether it is possible to change your sexual orientation, but whether or not you want to. If you do, then tell your dad you'd be willing to give it go but that you can't promise results. If you don't, then just tell your father that you are very happy to be gay and that you wish he would be supportive of who you were instead of being ashamed.
