Are you sure his dad "lost the letter," or is there the chance that he did indeed read it, but didn't want to respond or deal with it? There may be any number of reasons why he might not reciprocate your interest, ranging from your age (it might present legal issues for him!) to a potential change in his sexuality, or the simple fact that he might not be your type!

If you can re-establish contact with him, you might choose to write him another letter to express how you feel. But recognize that at this point it's a long-shot. And if he's not interested, or if you can't reach him, it's imperative that you MOVE ON and meet new people!!! To many guys get obsessively caught up in a single guy, and this leads them to miss other opportunities in their lives (and causes a lot of depression too!!!). Unrequited love is never fun!!! Don't be one of them!
