First off, there are no "tricks" in helping someone do something they are not comfortable doing. Talk to your partner, explain to him what an important expression of your love anal sex is for you. 8 years is a long time and you have been more than patient. Ask him if there is anything you can do to make him more comfortable with the idea, and finally, ask him if he has resolved to never doing this with you, or if it is just a teporary celibacy that may be lifted at some later date. Love and relationships often involve sacrifices and personally I think that this is a small sacrafice for someone who is otherwise perfect for you, but if he refuses, you will have to ultimately decided which is more important to you, love, or sex.
