Is my boyfriend gay, bi or just confused

I am very much in love with a man who was very upfront with me about being bi. The problem is that he keeps running away from the relationship because he is confused and very depressed. He has an obsession about she-males and this makes him feel very weird. I have told him (and mean this) that I except him for who he is, but I couldn't deal with sharing him sexualy. Of course there are other problems..i.e. our sex life has suffered greatly, he claims this is because he feels bad about himself and so depressed he sometimes feels suicidal...HE also spends alot of time masterbating to she-male mags. My view is that he is gay and can't except this in himself and keeps trying to have relationships with females. I quess what I'm trying to find out is: Is he gay, bi or just confused? and also do think our relationship has a chance? He claims to love me very much and I believe him...Help
