Your "friend" is being clear that he likes the idea of friendship with you, plus the "benefits" which I assume means sex. If you're happy with being an occasional sex toy while this guy runs around with Shawn, that's your perogative. If I were in your shoes, as hard as it is to find men in your area, I'd gather up my self-respect and tell your "friend with benefits" that the benefits have just ended because you're saving that for a boyfriend.

As far as meeting men, this has been covered in other Q & A here. In short, chat rooms, the Kurfew Personals, and other internet resources have been used successfully by many to find new people to date. There are gay people all over the world, even in Oneonta, so don't convince yourself you're in straight land. It's just a bit harder, but in time you'll find someone who appreciates you as a boyfriend, and not just as a friend with benefits.
