Anthony's advice to get some help is on the mark. If you're into self-help, and you think you can break from this person without him taking some kind of dangerous revenge, that's what I'd do. Why do you stick with him? Because you haven't been able to gather the courage to do what you know you need to do. Find the strength, do the right thing, and find someone who genuinely loves you.
