Hey

I am finally responding to this thread with great news! I finally got the courage to call it quits on this relationship. While we still live together (for 1 more week until the lease expires), we have decided to see other people. We have been pretty successful at being friends (so far), and it has been a lot of work. There was one moment where it almost got physical, and I left the house for a few days. Luckily, though, we talked our differences out and made amends. I have no desire to ever date this guy again, but I am willing to be his friend and let things exist at that level for awhile. Thanks so much for your help and support. It was the prodding and gestures of friends and community that got me out of this bad situation - and just in time!
