Hey, you think it's tough meeting guys? Imagine how things would be if you DIDN'T have chat rooms and email?!? As much as they're maligned, the internet has probably helped more young gay people discover themselves (and yes, even find relationships...though not necessarily the best ones) than any other invention of the 20th Century (thanks Al Gore!!!).

Now by writing off the internet, and labeling all youth center people as undesirable in one broad stroke of the brush, you've not only limited your options, but have revealed yourself as a bit closed-minded. But to get at the heart of your question: where else to meet guys...

Quite honestly, they're all over the place. It's a safe bet to assume that 5% of the males you meet are gay. So there are several in your very school, or at your work, whom you don't yet know are gay. Start by working on the boys whose looks/personality you are drawn to. Then whittle it down to probably gay boys (see my other answers in this column for tips on doing this) and then make your move!

But don't give up on the internet. You might need to be more selective to avoid the types that have probably soured you on the internet. But The Kurfew Personals, chat rooms, even just idle email banter on a topic of mutual interest, are all valid ways to meet people! So keep on them!
