You're not being punished. HIV is not the end of the world. There are far more treatment options in this day and age, far better prognosis for HIV+ people, and an extensive support system in place.

I recommend that you visit www.ligaly.com and check out the resources there. Also check out the PozYouth section of the youthhiv.org website (link at the bottom of this page).

As far as whether to press charges against the individual who raped you, please speak seek professional legal advice.
