Growing up I had the same problem, sometimes it seems like everyone in the world (or at least in your high school) knows you are gay before you even do! I don't think there is much you can do about it though, feel sorry for them that their small minds will prevent them from much of what life has to offer. If you are really unhappy where you are I suggest moving somewhere a bit more gay friendly. You mentioned coming to New York and I hope you meant for college because it is a wonderful place for people to go to get away from closed minds. On a final note I wanted to tell you that since I have moved here I get mistaken for being straight more than people suspect me of being gay. Hang in there and I will see you soon.
