Get up and Get over!

Dearest Heartbroken,
Wake-up sister she Broke-up with You! That means it's Over! I hate to be so blunt but it is the truth, and until you realize that you're going to continue to feel ratty. Break-ups can be devastating, gutt-wrenching even, but you've got to be strong. I know you love her and thought her to be your soulmate, but let's think realistically. If you're still in college the oldest you could be is 21, with that in mind, do you really think that at your age you won't find someone else? Believe me the painful truth is she is going to be with someone else and so will you. We always make ourselves believe that we've found "The One" whenever we have a happy relationship, but this just isn't the case. I personally don't believe in the idea of "Soul Mates" at all. I believe that in our lifetimes there are just too many different people and roads taken for there to be just one person for everyone. I believe the possibilities are limitless on who could be the right person for each person, because in life the choices we make and things we come across are what shape who we are. Therefore, since there are limitless possiblilities on who we can be, the same rules should apply for who we should and/or could and/or would be with. So my advice is:
Pick yourself up, be grateful you have experienced what you think love to be at such an early age, and move on! We wrap ourselves up too much in the past anyway. Focus on what's ahead of you, and appreciate yourself. You've got a long way to go before you settle down, so don't rush! See things for what they are- it was only 9 months not 9 years! Appreciate the experiences you've been able to have, and the fact that you're young and healthy. The bottom line is- don't dwell, but never forget.
