Poppers is a drug. They were particularly popular among gay men in the pre-AIDS days...in fact, poppers was once erroneously attributed as a possible cause of AIDS. I personally do not know of people who use them, although I'm sure the practice continues. Like any drug, there are numerous health consequences to using them.

Why would your dad make such an accusation? Does he know that you're gay? Is he perhaps trying to make an insinuation that you're gay by accusing you of using a drug that he may identify as being a "gay drug." ??? Or, did her perhaps simply find something? Might a friend have left something in your house?

If you don't use poppers, the answer is to simply tell him you don't! If he's looking to get other answers out of you, it's going to be your decision (and on your terms) what to tell him.
