Some people don't take hints well as I am sure you are learning. The only thing that you can do to get the message across is to be firm without losing your temper. Do not show him any emotions at all...no anger, no frustration, nothing. When he attempts to talk to you, email you, or call you, simply tell him calmly and straight out that you have no interest in talking to him and then excuse yourself. Tell your parents and friends to tell him the same thing. Don't allow him to invoke your sympathy by complaining about depression/drug problems...he is just playing psychological games. If you and everyone with whom he talks about you simply says "I/he has no interest in talking to you" and ends it at that, he will soon enough stop trying.
