It's important to acknowledge that there are many different ways Christians interpret the Bible, and many Christians fully embrace LGBTQ+ people, seeing no contradiction between faith and love for all. Some denominations and churches even welcome and affirm LGBTQ+ individuals, believing that love, kindness, and compassion are at the heart of Jesus' teachings.

Regarding your question of why LGBTQ+ individuals would continue to act on their feelings if some consider it sinful: for many, it’s a matter of living authentically. Homosexuality, for many people, is not a choice but a fundamental part of who they are. To deny that part of themselves would feel like denying who they were created to be. LGBTQ+ Christians, in particular, may reconcile their faith and sexuality in ways that align with their personal understanding of God's love, grace, and acceptance.

Where we need to agree is on the fact that there are of course many Christians like any others who struggle deeply with their own sexuality, especially when faced with messages that label them as sinners or their lives as sinful. When they feel rejected by their church and families, the outcome can be tragic. Some have even been driven to take their own lives. No matter where you stand in your faith or beliefs, I’m sure we can both agree that Jesus would never condone hatred or condemnation that pushes someone to such despair. What we’re here to do is let those people know that they are understood, loved, and accepted—no matter their sexuality, religion, or beliefs. He was about love, compassion, and understanding, and it’s important that we extend that to everyone, especially those who are struggling.

On the topic of HIV and AIDS, it's true that there are risks associated with any sexual activity, regardless of orientation. But it’s important to note that these risks apply to both heterosexual and homosexual people. What matters is practicing safe sex, educating oneself, and taking care of one’s health, rather than singling out any one group. Advances in medicine have also greatly reduced the risks and dangers associated with HIV.

Your perspective of not agreeing with homosexuality but not hating homosexuals is important. While we may not all share the same beliefs, conversations like these are a step toward better understanding each other. The real challenge is ensuring that our actions—whether through words or behavior—are rooted in love, compassion, and respect, regardless of where we stand on particular issues. At the end of the day, it’s our shared humanity that matters most.
