Shave away!

In Answer To: Is it wrong? (DB)

I think you already know the Kurfew Krew's answer to this especially if you've seen enough pictures from our parties! You will know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with shaving your legs, regardless of your gender. Whether or not to shave is a personal choice, and it’s up to you to decide what makes you feel comfortable and happy in your own skin.

Some people shave for aesthetic reasons, for sports, or just because they prefer how it feels. Others don’t, and that’s okay too. Some, of course, simply do not have hair to shave! What’s most important is that you feel confident and at ease with your own body.

If your family has strong opinions about this, it's likely they hold more traditional views or at worse, may feel that your shaving of your legs is declaring something about your sexuality. However, it’s your body, and it’s important to remember that how you choose to present yourself is entirely up to you.

If you’re feeling pressure from your family, it might be worth having a conversation with them about how you feel. You can let them know that shaving (or not shaving) is a personal decision that doesn’t change who you are as a person. If this is an issue they're flipping out over irrationally, and if you're still dependent upon them for housing, etc. you might have to make some decisions about your priorities. Or you may need to be creative: you might try letting them know that you're shaving your legs because you've decided to become a competitive swimmer, lol.

At the end of the day, what matters most is how you feel. If shaving your legs makes you happy, then that’s all the reason you need.
