I generally do not advocate depending on the internet to make friends, but sometimes it can actually be very useful. I don't know if you have access to AOL chat rooms,but even if you don't, there are other resources on the web (such as the Kurfew meassage bored) where you can try to make gay friends. Why don't you try to post a message on the bored saying where you are from and that you are just looking for some friends right now. Also you can try putting a personal ad up that says you are looking for some local young gay friends. I think in the position you are in right now, this is probably the best route. I don't recommend walking around your school and asking people if they are gay. Good Luck.
