I think there is a fine line between being a lesbian and wanting to be close friend with someone. For me, these feelings are so similar that I use to mistake my desire to become closer friends with someone for being sexually atracted to them. You never specified if you're feelings for her were sexual. That is a big part of the whole leasbian package. Its possible that you just enjoy spending time with her. Either way I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to pursue a friendship with her. After that, you can worry about other things.
