We Are Here For You

Dear Chris,

First, I want you to know that many people are here for you and you have no reason to feel as if you aren't wanted. There is nothing wrong with being bi or gay and you have to understand that first. If you tell your parents they might be upset at first and surprised, but there are ways to deal with that. You can look at previous questions on the board to read about situations like that. Telling your friend is probably easier because he is your friend. I find it is much easier to talk to my friends than my parents. When you two are alone and talking bring this up. Just casually tell him that you have maybe had a feeling towards a guy. Not a big feeling just a little something. Ask him if he thinks its normal and just a part of growing up. This will provide a safety net for you to make up into just in case he seems like he is against anyone gay or bi. If he talks about it openly with you then it looks clear and it looks like you can talk to him about being bisexual.
