[Editor's Note] In our culture, the bible has probably been the single most oppresive tool wielded by others to justify their oppression of gay people. But it's very important to know that the same bible was used to justify slavery many years ago, as well as the oppression of women earlier in the century. The concept of women being subservient to men, and unable to vote, were all based on such religious interpretations. The word "abomination" so often thrown about by bible-toters in discussing homosexuality, was also applied to eating shellfish and mixing certain fabrics together, things that have long been discarded as impractical relics of another era!!! The same is now finally happening to the archaic interpretations of homosexuality, but the homophobes need to hate is so strong, that they will fight on and on and on...

Any gay person can know that being gay is an inherent part of their being; it's something that God created and quite intentionally. No self-righteous zealot's interpretation of any book can possibly overcome that.

Expose these people for who they are: Bigoted people who want to hate, and who believe they can hold up some book to justify their hatred. We will win in the end, but the struggle won't be easy. To know we're in this struggle with literally MILLIONS of others is the most reassuring thing!
