A time for troubled youths?

One of the most difficult problems for me to read about is from teenage guys who are just coming to terms with their sexuality and have no one to talk to. A lot of suburban environments are very opressive for gays and if there is no community group in your area it is difficult to find people to trust. Like you, I am also a bit of a loner and have trouble making friends blah blah blah. I wish I could make things better for you, but unfortunately, sometimes this is just part of growing up. The one piece of advice I can give you though is that you don't necessarily need to make gay friends right now, but it is important to make friends of some sort if you are lonely and need someone to talk to. Be open to different kinds of people. Unfortunately most people don't realize this until many years later, but the most interesting people who go to your school are probably also the quietest and the ones whom you may never meet if you don't make an effort. I know there is a fear of rejection, but just try to talk to different kinds of people, making a true friend is difficult, especially in a High School setting, but a little effort may go a long way. Good luck!!!
