Ask Jeff & Anthony

There could be some scientific basis to it!

In Answer To: something weird i have noticed (James)

Actually, I've noticed that a larger than normal percentage of people with names beginning with "J" seem to be gay too!!! Maybe this is just because my name is "Jeff" and so I'm more attuned to "J" names...but it is odd that to find someone who shares my "discovery" !!!

Here's one far-fetched explanation: Recent science suggests that hormonal levels in the womb may affect sexual orientation. If certain emotional states, stress levels, socioeconomic backgrounds, or other factors affects these hormonal levels, there may well be some very slight correlation between hormonallevels in the womb that would tend to produce a "gay baby," and the tendency to select certain names.

Other observations of mine that I made in high school have recently been borne out by science: (1) Left-handed people are more likely to be gay than right-handed people.
(2) Gay people may have some physical differences when compared to straight people (e.g. relative finger lengths)
