i have 2 questions?

I have 2 questions to ask you. The first quetion is that should I let them know how I feel about guys and that I have had a boyfriend in my life. I have heard that my moms boyfreind/feance that he hated gay people and bisexual that if he would ever find a gay or basexual that he would torchure the person because he is bisexual. the second question is that i meet this one guy that i though was ugly he asked my freind for my phone number and then that same day he called me, i think i acted mean on the phone wich i wasn't and my friend say that i sound mean, then a couple days later my freind (other person) introduce me to this one guy who wanted a boyfriend in his life and then she pulled me out and asked me if i wanted to go out with him and then i said that i would like to know him first so a couple of days and one thing lead to another andbefor i knew it we were going out. And my boyfried was talking to me about his freing who got dump bla bla bla.
and then this guy i said earley that i thought that he looked ulgy was the guy who dumped my boyfriend firend. He started to hang out with us and my boyfreind had dumped me just last week then i started to like him then befor i knew it i was in love with him and hten just monday i asked him if he would like to go out with me and then he said "lets just be freinds" and i felt like a compleat fool of myself for askig him that.
should i have asked him that question yes or no?
please help me and i dont what to get hurt
