In Answer To: How do I tell my male friend? (Joey (age 16))

Dear Joey:

The 1st people I told when I was

coming out were my 3 best guy
friends because we were all sleeping
over my friends house and I couldn't
hold it in longer. You already got over
a very big step: telling someone - no
matter who. If you want to tell your
male friend(s) just have your females

you told there for support - it will
make the thing easier..As a matter of
fact they can initiate the whole deal
by saying how you have something to

tell them.

I have not told my parents yet - I
wrote a letter to one guy about how
to come out to his parents because he
was nervous, so check it out.. If you

feel the desire inside and feel you
and your parents can handle what you

are about to tell them then go right
ahead - Just be yourself and don't

act like you don't appreciate what
you are....Think highly of yourself if
you decide to tell them...When you tell
them - make them feel as though they
should be proud to have gay son just
as much as having a perfect son going
to Harvard. Lots of luck to you Joey -

write back to ask if you need

anything or wanna talk about other

things.
