BEING SPECIAL by Justin

I respect that every one has an opinion, but what I don't respect is the people out there who hate people that don't agree with them. Example: being gay.This subject has probably brought out some kind of emotion when you hear about it. You could respect the people who choose to be gay, or you could condemn them all to hell. Though some may think they know all there is to being gay, they probably don't. It is nothing more then a lifestyle that is a part of a person, but sadly people see it as much more. When you come out as being gay you will be forever known to most people as "the gay person." That will be the first thing that come t peoples mind when they think of you. It wont be "The great writer" or "the nice one" It'll be "The gay person." Many people feel that being gay is a curse. But I, with many others feel that being gay is a gift. How many people get to experience what we experience? Feel what we feel. I know we have it harder then others, but we get to be part of a special club. We get to be "The special ones." When I figured out I was gay I was thrilled. I was finally happy. I was not alone any more ,I wasn't just some strange boy who didn't connect with anyone. I was part of a group of people that make up over 17% of our population. It might seem strange but it really makes sense. All of those straight people who are alone because of "whatever" are truly alone. But we as gays aren't alone because we're a group. If you wonder about the bible consider this: Do you know the game "Telephone" when someone says a phrase and says it to the person next to them,and they tell someone else. And by the time the last person stands up and repeats it, it is a completely different phrase. So why can't we assume the bible is the same way, after years of being passed around it's bound to change. In conclusion,I think that hiding the fact that you are gay is totally unnecessary.If more people began to come out then maybe,just maybe the world will began to accept us.
