I know how much it can hurt to get involved with someone and then they pay you no mind at all. Do you think the relationship was well? were there any signs that could have lead to the end of the relationship? Also he may be going throught something on his own and may need to be alone. At this point it is evident he can not hold a relationship and you need to move on. It hard to do but the pain will get less and less as each day gose on.
